Singer-songwriter/rapper Sophie Pecora has already racked up over 2 million followers on TikTok, and now she’s taking on the world with her new EP.
Her third project to date, To Save The World showcases her ability to create songs that empathetically observe people through their triumphs and their struggles. Across 5 tracks, Sophie addresses topics like confidence, mental health, and healing.
Her authenticity shines through her relatable lyrics and her signature rap/singing style that is uniquely hers.
We chatted with the rising artist about the EP, her upcoming live performance, and more!
Congrats on the release of your EP To Save The World. What was the writing and production process like?
I write all my songs alone in my room with my guitar, just expressing my feelings in a creative way. Songwriting is always a great way for me to get my thoughts out. I chose five songs that I thought would fit well in the project together and brought them to the studio. There, I worked with my music producer to record the songs and turn them into professional sounding records. It’s a really nice studio and I always enjoy being there!
For people that aren’t familiar with your music, how would you describe your sound?
I would describe my sound as a unique rap-poetry style of pop music.
This is your third project. What have you learned from those previous projects that you implemented on this EP?
I have learned to just continue to be authentic through my music and lyrics because that is what people have connected to. It is also what I love to do the most. With each song I write, the lyrics and melodies get better naturally just with time and practice.
What was the inspiration for the title track?
I was feeling overwhelmed by everything I was seeing and hearing on the news and feeling helpless yet wanting to do something so badly to help. I care so much and I was thinking, if how much I care could translate into helping people, then I’d be the one to save the world.
How do you hope the song inspires listeners?
I hope the song inspires people to care for people, and to trust that this effort can change the world by affecting people’s lives in a positive way. When we don’t know what to do, simply caring and spreading kindness to anyone you come across is something worthwhile to do.
If you could set fans up in the perfect environment to listen to the EP, what do you imagine it looking like?
Driving in a car or being a passenger, putting headphones on and listening to the words and music. This is my favorite way to listen to music too!
What can fans look forward to next?
I’ve already written and produced 5 new songs for my 4th EP! I’m finalizing them as we speak. This next set of songs have more rap in them, which I’m really excited to share.
What can fans expect from your show at Hotel Cafe on July 26?
I’ll be performing with other talented artists. I have a time slot for 3 songs and am really looking forward to the evening!
What is one quote that you have heard or that you go by that you want to ECHO out to the world?
It’s all possible!
