Evan+Zane Release Cover of “White Rabbit”

Coinciding with Westworld actress, Evan Rachel Wood’s birthday, Evan+Zane released their first ever studio recorded cover and music video. Since forming the duo back in 2018, Evan and Grammy nominated musician, Zane Carney have been enchanting audiences with original interpretations of classic songs. Their one night only performances have followed themes including Disney, Names and Jealousy. Now, even without a ticket, fans can listen to the duo’s latest cover of Jefferson Airplane’s, “White Rabbit.”

The video, directed by Amy West and produced by Meow Wolf, opens with desert scenery plucked straight out of Westworld. A western inspired guitar riff plays Evan in as she discovers a rapidly mutating neon creature. She runs home to share her find with Zane who is equally mesmerized. The creature floats away through a fireplace portal and into an alternate world. Evan and Zane follow right behind and are transported into a neon world and eventually a pixel world. The two eventually wake back up in reality.

The lyrics are just as playful and psychedelic as the imagery. Evan sings, And if you go chasing rabbits, and you know you’re going to fall /
Tell ’em a hookah-smoking caterpillar has given you the call.”

A reference to Alice and Wonderland and inquisitiveness.

The cover showcases both Evan and Zane’s talents and we can’t wait to see and hear more from the duo!
