With a year off due to Covid, The Nissan Concert Series had a nice comeback at The Super Girl Surf Pro event, held annually in Oceanside, CA.
This year, Nissan welcomed Austin Mahone back to the stage, as well as Plain White T’s, Maggie Lindemann, Kira Kosarin, Sofia Carson, Carlie Hanson and more.
On Saturday, Maggie Lindemann performed as the main act, this was her first time performing her EP, PARANOIA, making it a special performance.
After, Sofia Carson came out onto stage to perform a few songs as herself, Sofia Carson and then after, she came out to film a movie for her new 2022 Netflix film Purple Hearts. The crowd got to immersive themselves into the movie and be apart of the movie by watching Carson perform as Cassie, the character she plays in the upcoming movie.
The following day, Sunday, Carlie Hanson kicked off the day of performances with songs such as “Back In My Arms” and “Daze Inn.” Her performance was unique in her own way. With her powerful, emotional voice and songs that had a meaningful, sometimes “coming of age” feel to them, her set was a great way to start of the day of performances.
Later on, Austin Mahone came out for all the fan girls to perform his popular songs such as “What About Us,” “Dancing with Nobody” and “Mmm Yeah.” During the energetic performance put on by Mahone, he went into the crowd to hold fans hands during one of his songs. His whole performance got everyone excited and energized for Plain White T’s.
Closing out the exciting day was The Plain White T’s. There famous songs such as “Hey There Delilah,” “Rhythm of Love,” which might have had the greatest fan turn out the whole day. Everyone was singing at the top of their lungs during these songs, bringing everyone back to the early 2000’s.
