2021 has been quite a year for rising pop singer/songwriter Ashley Kutcher. Following a string of viral singles and a career path change from nursing to music, the Maryland native is calling out the disingenuous in her new single, “Fake Bitches.”

In her signature no b.s. style, Kutcher sings of her interactions with “Fake Bitches” who don’t have her best interest in mind, while also showing her appreciation for the people who have always supported her.

“The idea for this song came about after talking about my transition from nursing to signing a record deal,” Kutcher shared. She continued, “while it’s an exciting stage of my life, I have also received a lot of unwanted “feedback” from people around me. This made me realize that as I’ve gotten older, I really only have a couple of real friends that truly have my back. I wanted to make a fun song that people can relate to when it comes to knowing who the real people in your life are, and of course, knowing who’s definitely not.”

The bold single, produced by Los Angeles duo Afterhrs (Louis Tomlinson, Maroon 5, and One Direction), is accompanied by a music video directed by Lindsey Byrnes. The video is simple, yet impactful with Kutcher singing directly into the camera, while layered close-ups appear on the screen and video projections play behind her.

Kutcher is not slowing down anytime soon. She is currently working on her debut EP, due later this year on Darkroom / Interscope.
