After kicking off 2021 with her chart-topping, all-Spanish language EP, REVELACIÓN, global recording artist, actress, and executive producer Selena Gomez has returned with her latest Spanish single, “999,” a collaboration with Colombian Latin GRAMMY® winner Camilo.
The sensual pop duet about resisting desire was written by Camilo with Gomez in mind. “From the beginning, “999” was written based on the color of her voice, and it wouldn’t have existed if it wasn’t for the dream of this collaboration. I’m very excited and it means so much to me to have this beautiful song, with an artist whom I respect and have followed for so long,” Camilo gushed.
Gomez was equally complimentary of Camilo, who, “is a fantastic songwriter and singer who proudly wears his heart on his sleeve which is something we connected on immediately. I couldn’t have been more excited to collaborate with him,” she said.
Gomez also tapped her acting skills for the video directed by Sophie Muller. The visual’s “simple and organic” backdrops and cool hues with splashes of saturated color provide the perfect canvas to highlight Camilo’s songwriting and Gomez’s vocals.
We hope that ‘REVELACIÓN’ and “999″ are just a glimpse at what fans can look forward to next from Gomez.
