Your quarantine just got a whole lot more fun with this new song. Then again every music Friday is unusually more exciting cause that’s the only thing new now a days, with new music released weekly on Fridays. This Friday though, (May 22) is different. Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, two respectable pop queens released a duet that might be remembered as one of the best collaborations of 2020.
The song called “Rain On Me” is off Lady Gaga’s upcoming album Chromatica, due out May 29, originally April 10, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was rescheduled for May 29.
The due also released the new music video today (May 22) along with the single.
The visual, directed by Spy Kids auteur Robert Rodriguez, follows the same cyberpunk-anime aesthetic that Gaga has presented for the Chromatica album cycle. Dressed in pink, the pop star leads a troupe of dancers inside of a giant arena, with Ariana’s pink-hued squad on the flipside of the video. There’s also some dramatic close-ups of Gaga with rain pouring down her face, and at one point, she and Ari are shown holding hands, each with lengthy Sailor Moon hair floating in the wind behind them.
