Lil Tjay, an upcoming rapper who has reached massive success recently, completely took over Paradise Rock Club in Boston for two sold-out back-to-back performances.
The rapper, only 18 years old, first gained the attention of millions on Soundcloud just two years ago and is now touring the world. With features on some of the biggest tracks to date, including “Pop Out” by Polo G, it is no surprise that Lil Tjay completely packed the iconic New England venue for both of his shows. The young star seems to have some of the most dedicated fans in the world, some camping out for countless hours to secure their spot in the general admission pit, and countless in attendance for both of his appearances.
Lil Tjay was accompanied by Mulatto, an up and coming female rapper, who opened the show with an iconic and unforgettable set. Her energy on-stage undoubtably got the crowd going and ready to sing every lyric of Lil Tjay’s without any concern for losing their voice or experiencing some form of exhaustion. And by the time the anticipation for his set built up until it couldn’t anymore, Lil Tjay ran out onto the stage and received a reaction incomparable to many other performances. High frequency screams and mosh pitting began right away.
His biggest hits, including ‘F.N’ and ‘Hold On,’ were a part of his setlist that seemed to smoothly transition from track to track without much distraction. There was a bit of communication between the fans and Lil Tjay towards the end of his set, but most of his performance was understandably focused on his music and getting the crowd hyped up. The ‘20/20’ rapper performed as many songs as he possibly could and therefore allowed each and every fan to hear their favorites live.
In addition to Lil Tjay’s energy and hyperactive stage-presence, it seems as though the young rapper also has a passion for water. Towards the end of his set, countless cases of water bottles were brought on stage and many had guessed it was due to a few people fainting in the crowd. The audience thought it was a no-brainer that the venue and Lil Tjay’s team would hand out water to prevent further dehydration. Instead, the water was used to be splashed from both the fans and Lil Tjay’s team when the beat dropped on the final songs he performed. And while some would expect fans to be upset or worried about the durability of their phones, they apparently loved every second of it. Smiles and a feeling of euphoria filled the Paradise Rock Club, leaving attendees soaked and the stage looking like there had been a flood.
After effortlessly selling out two shows, Lil Tjay proved that he should and will be playing bigger venues in the near future. With fans as dedicated and supportive as his, the future is undeniably bright for this young star. Fans of the rap genre are quickly learning his name and it doesn’t seem as though it will be forgotten any time soon.
