With so many young and new artists in today’s music scene, it can be overwhelming to stay up-to-date with everyone. Will Linley is amongst those who are on the rise in the new wave of musicians in Gen Z. Linley’s energy that he encapsulates and puts out on stage is riveting and full of life, reminiscent of Benson Boone, minus all the backflips. His music, which sounds like the soundtrack to a beautiful coming-of-age/rom-com movie, will move you as well, making the whole night a cathartic experience.
The night kicked off with “Magic,” instantly captivating the audience. “Kill All My Feelings” and “I Don’t Wanna Be Yours” followed, showcasing Linley’s ability to blend heartfelt lyrics with catchy melodies. The emotional depth of “Blame” and “Maybe” had the crowd swaying, while “All the Girls” and “On Paper” brought a playful, upbeat vibe to the set.
As the night progressed, Linley performed “Gracie” and “Last Call,” further highlighting his range as an artist. The intimate venue, Sonia, made the performance of “Tough (The Girls Song)” even more special, with its raw and relatable lyrics resonating deeply with the audience. “Wrong Time” and “Just Because I Called You” kept the momentum going, each song delivered with passion and sincerity.
One of the night’s standout moments was when Linley jumped into the crowd and performed alongside opener Mercer Henderson, singing an acoustic cover of ABBA’s “Dancing Queen.” The set continued with “Play Video” and closed on a high note with “Miss Me (When You’re Gone),” leaving the audience with a sense of fulfillment and a lasting impression of Linley’s talent and charisma.
Overall, Will Linley’s performance was a beautiful blend of emotional depth and youthful energy, making for an unforgettable night.
