Review: Outer Banks Season 4 — Treasure Hunting, Danger, and the Bonds of Friendship

The Pogues are back in Outer Banks Season 4, and the stakes have never been higher. With the return of John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), JJ (Rudy Pankow), Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and Cleo (Carlacia Grant), fans are in for the wildest ride yet. Set to be split into two parts, the ten-episode season promises more danger, treasure hunts, and heartfelt moments that have kept viewers hooked since the beginning.

At the end of Season 3, the Pogues had just uncovered the gold at El Dorado and were finally catching their breath after the whirlwind of action. But Season 4 quickly reminds us that peace doesn’t last long in the OBX. After 18 months of living a “normal” life and running their new safe haven, Poguelandia 2.0, the crew is pulled back into the world of treasure hunting when they take on Wes Genrette’s proposal to search for Blackbeard’s lost fortune.

As John B so accurately puts it in the trailer, “How long were we really going to stay out of trouble?”

This season, we see our favorite crew grapple with more than just the threat of dangerous enemies—they’re also confronting their own identities, their friendships, and the sacrifices they’ve made along the way. With old adversaries like Rafe and new ones like Lightner and Dalia, the Pogues must navigate both external and internal conflicts. The emotional depth of the show remains strong as the core theme of friendship continues to ground the narrative amid all the chaos.

The addition of new faces, including J. Anthony Crane as Chandler Groff and Pollyanna McIntosh as Dalia, adds fresh dynamics to the group, testing the Pogues in ways we haven’t seen before.

With episode titles like “Blackbeard” and “The Storm,” it’s clear the show is embracing the mythos of pirate legends and treacherous seas. Each episode promises to deepen the mystery surrounding Blackbeard’s treasure while throwing the Pogues into more dangerous territory.

Outer Banks Season 4 promises to be the biggest and boldest yet. With the treasure hunt for Blackbeard’s gold looming, the Pogues will face new challenges, dangerous foes, and emotional reckonings. The thrill of adventure mixed with deep character bonds makes this season a must-watch for long-time fans and newcomers alike. Get ready for an unforgettable journey—because as always, the Pogues never stay out of trouble for long.

With Part 1 set to drop on Oct. 10 and Part 2 following on Nov. 7, viewers won’t have to wait long to get swept back into the action.
