This edition of New Artist Spotlight features ten artists who capture emotions, the desire to live in the moment, relationships, and self-love.
Kardboard Kid
“It’s A Mess” is the new single from acclaimed UK multi-hyphenate Kardboard Kid. Kid takes the emotion she experienced during the pandemic and juxtaposes them against an upbeat dance track.
The Essex Born artist explains that this single is, “about feeling stressed, anxious and generally messy. Written at the height of the pandemic, it was intended as an audio illustration of the way many of us were feeling at the time, but packaged in a way that still maintains the upbeat and fun feel of Kardboard Kid’s sound.”
Olivia Morreale
Following her previous single “No Answer,” New York born Olivia Morreale provides a vibey, R&B escape with her new single “Another Moon.”
Channeling her childhood jazz influences, Morreale has created “an ode to escapism and a celebration of imagination.”
The single will be one of the tracks featured on her forthcoming EP ‘Space Dream.’ produced with her friend and co-collaborator Eli Kosoff (producer & songwriter).
Sofia Lafuente
“Cut Deep” is one of six tracks off of Sofia Lafuente’s emotionally vulnerable debut EP ‘Control.’
The alternative pop track chronicles Lafuente’s journey towards self and musical discovery through pop and orchestral melodies. This self-awareness is captured in her tongue-in-cheek single, “Cut Deep,” which Lafuente described as “a warning to anyone who wants to be with me.” She continued, “I think women, in particular, can sometimes feel like they’re ‘too much’ emotionally and with this song I wanted to be unapologetic about that and embrace the fact that ultimately it’s something that we should celebrate. Getting depth from a relationship is a wonderful thing, but I can have a sense of humor about it.”
Summer Salt
Austin indie-pop duo, Summer Salt are breaking the age old rule and are taking a look in the rearview with fresh perspective.
Their final single “Monday’s Fácil” off their upcoming 12 track album is an easy going melody with a message of living in the moment.

The calm and minimalistic single is paired with an abstract film discovered by André’s Mom, a professor at McGill University. The unique combination of shapes and motion replicates the breaks between home video clips further driving home the nostalgia of the song.

Dutch artist Jengi has amassed almost 9 million streams on his previous single “Get Down” and his official remix of viral hit “Mine.” He recently released his highly anticipated EP ‘Zero.’
Among the EP’s five-tracks is the lead single “Waiting,” a song infused with contemporary indie-house and synth that provides opportunity for Jengi to highlight his signature falsetto.
