After his celebrated 2021 single “1985,” DIY artist Lloyd P-White returns with another numerical follow up, “925.”
On the pop-punk track, White pulls from his own adventures of living as a touring “rockstar.” White explains, “‘925’ is about living the life of a rockstar without actually being a massive rockstar. Going on the road, performing to small crowds and partying has become my 9 to 5; might be 9PM to 5AM, but it’s still a 9 to 5, I guess. It might seem like it’s all fun and games, but as in life there’s no ups without the downs and living this type of lifestyle can quickly lead to a feeling of emptiness and loneliness.”
Recorded in his DIY studio with only a microphone and a laptop, the song’s electric guitar riffs, energetic beat, and lyrics highlight White’s creative genre-bending style.
The official video directed by Laurie TB takes a literal interpretation of the lyrics and reveals the honest truth about the life of a rising rock star.
