The “Rumors” are true!
After a 12 year hiatus, Lindsay Lohan is back with a new single. “Back To Me,” a song about embracing who you were and who you have become, is a playful dance track.
In a Twitter post, Lohan explained that “The song is about rediscovering and accepting oneself, shutting out the noise and moving forward and letting the past go.” This description is evident in the track’s lyrics such as “I used to blame me when sh*t got crazy/ I can’t think too much about what they say” and “my life is full of ripped up pages/I’ve been weak-contagious/I’m coming back/I’m coming back to me.”
The song sets a tone and symbolic storyline as it begins with a very restrained beat, before it breaks free into a beat drop.
In the early 2000s, Lohan released two albums, “Speak” in 2004 and “A Little More Personal” in 2005. Last year, Lohan posted the “Xanax” track to her instagram, but it never was widely released.
Although Lohan has hinted about a new album, there has been no confirmation that this new single is part of a larger work.
