Lake Street Dive Embrace Togetherness on Eighth Album and “Good Together Tour”

Lake Street Dive kicked off summer 2024 with their highly-anticipated eighth album “Good Together” produced by frequent collaboration and Grammy-winning producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr.).

The record features “Good Together,” “Better Not Tell You” and “Dance With a Stranger,” which the band’s Bridget Kearney revealed is “a song inspired by a square dance, where folks from different communities come together and get a chance to move together.”

Togetherness is a major theme throughout the record, and coincidentally in its making.

The band’s Rachael Price shared that they switched things up on this record and instead of writing alone and then bringing the rest of the band in, this album allowed for the members to write all together at drummer Mike Calabrese’s Vermont home. “At first it was terrifying to write together in the same room, but as soon as we got started it felt so fun. We very quickly realized, ‘Oh, we need to do this again and again,’” Price said.

In celebration of the record’s release the band are gathering fans “together” on their “Good Together Tour” with stops at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheater and Chicago’s The Salt Shed.

Ahead of their landmark inaugural headline show at Madison Square Garden, the quintet originally formed at New England Conservatory, returned to the Northeast for a two-night residency at Thompson’s Point in Maine.
