Fresh off an intimate headline tour for her debut album, MUNA frontwoman Katie Gavin has hit the road again solo, this time opening for Lucy Dacus.
On April 21, Gavin, Dacus, and opener jasmine.4.t. continued their two-night residency at Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway as part of the “Forever Is A Feeling” tour.
Following jasmine.4.t, Gavin took the stage in a black corset, her bouncy waves cascading effortlessly over her shoulders. She was joined by her band, including staple touring band member Nana Adjoa on guitar, for an eight-song set anchored in her debut album’s tracklist. Toward the beginning, jasmine 4.t. reappeared for a duet of “As Good As It Gets,” Gavin’s collaboration with Mitski.

Between songs, Gavin engaged the crowd with warmth and humor, joking about fantasizing herself into a Red Sox lesbian fanfic, especially fitting given the venue’s location at Fenway Park. She also shared her deep admiration for Dacus, calling her “one of my favorite songwriters alive.”
After a stirring performance of “Sweet Abby Girl” on the shruti box, Gavin closed her set with “aftertaste,” its final notes lingering as the crew prepared the stage for Dacus.
Later that night, Gavin returned to join Dacus for a performance of “Bullseye” and was back to her antics. As Dacus introduced the duet, Gavin appeared wearing a fake beard, sending Dacus into a fit of laughter so strong she nearly toppled off the velvet couch.
The joy, talent, and playful camaraderie onstage proved that forever isn’t just a feeling, it’s the kind of unforgettable memory that lingers, like an aftertaste, long after the final notes.
