Hollywood in Bloom: Stars Stun at The Met Gala

Hollywood was in full bloom at the 2024 Met Gala®!

On the first Monday of May, The Metropolitan Museum of Art hosted its annual Costume Institute Benefit to celebrate the opening of their spring exhibition, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion

Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez, Anna Wintour, and Zendaya served as co-chairs for the enchanting evening with Shou Chew, Chief Executive Officer of TikTok, and Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of LOEWE as honorary chairs.

Met Gala® veteran Zendaya continued her partnership with longtime stylist Law Roach to create her iconic triptych of looks. Following this year’s dress-code, “The Garden of Time,” she first arrived on the carpet in a deep blue and green mermaid silhouette from Mason Margiela’s John Galliano with a veiled, feather headpiece by Stephen Jones for Margiela.

The Challengers’ star also served in vintage Givenchy as her second red carpet look. Roach told Extra that the piece was curated from LILY et Cie, a Beverly Hills vintage shop. “I found the dress haphazardly and took Zendaya to show it to her, and we tried it on and fell in love with it, and she bought it.”

Inside, Zendaya sparkled in her final look of the night, a beaded white dress with a plunging neckline from Celia Kritharioti.

Rapper and singer Bad Bunny joined his co-chair in Maison Margiela Artisanal Collection by John Galliano with a corseted jacket and centaur-like Tabis.

Jennifer Lopez impressed for another year in a shear, winged and beaded piece from Schiaparelli, while Chris Hemsworth went simple and tailored in his cream Tom Ford suit.

Anna Wintour was dressed by LOEWE. The Spanish Luxury fashion house was the most buzzed about of the night with fourteen timeless looks including Dan Levy’s hand-beaded suit and Ayo Adebiri’s hand painted guipure lace dress.

Other eye-catching looks that graced the New York institution’s steps included Tyla’s Balmain sand dress, Lana Del Rey’s veiled Alexander McQueen Briar Rose look, and Cardi B’s generous Giambattista Valli gown.

Inside the Museum, guest were treated to a wickedly wonderful performance by Ariana Grande with Cynthia Erivo.

The Benefit raised a record breaking $26 million for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute according to a spokesperson from the museum.
