Indie-bedroom-pop artist Grady is known for capturing the different stages of love in diary-like singles. Following his debut anti-hookup anthem “All In,” his latest single, “The Idea of You” featuring lovelytheband is about one-sided infatuation.

On the track, Grady pulls from his own experience with honest vulnerability. “I wrote it after telling a girl I had a shaky history with that I still loved her. She said, ‘I think you love the idea of me’ but even if that was the case, just thinking of her made me feel fuzzy and that was enough,” Grady explained.

Grady’s sincere lyrics have a history of resonating with his over 700K monthly Spotify listeners, so it’s no surprise that when he played this single for fellow artist and lovelytheband frontman Mitchy Collins, the alt-pop vocalist knew he wanted to be involved.

“Grady is a good friend and talented songwriter. He played me the song as it was in the works and I connected with the hook lyric instantly. I wanted to jump on and add my perspective to it,”  Collins shared.

The culmination of both perspectives and sounds produce a lush and harmonious track that is bound to get stuck in your head.
