Nat and Alex Wolff are in their “Soft Kissing Hour,” with the release of their new single produced by Billie Eilish. Although Eilish got to experiment with production during the making of her third album Hit Me Hard and Soft, this release marks Eilish’s first time producing for other artists.
The collaborators first met following the 2024 Oscars where Alex Wolff’s film Oppenhiemer was nominated, while Eilish was nominated alongside her brother Finneas for their song “What Was I Made For?,” a highlight of the “Barbie” soundtrack. Putting the Barbenheimer “rivalry” to rest, the three hit it off and have been friends ever since.
Earlier this summer, fans got to see their bond play out in the visualizer for Eilish’s song “CHIHIRO.” “Got to be in my fav artist and fav human @billieeilish arresting music video for her beautiful song “chihiro,”” Nat wrote on instagram. “Not only is she a genius singer and songwriter but also an amazing director and editor. (by take 3 of this running shot both of our childhood asthmas we’re acting up.)”
Shortly after, Nat and Alex Wolff announced that they would be joining their friend on her highly anticipated “Hit Me Hard and Soft” arena tour. While on the 43-city trek, the sibling duo have shared the result of a collaboration with Eilish and “one of the most fulfilling creative experiences,” “Soft Kissing Hour.”
On instagram, Eilish echoed the sentiment adding “I produced this song! aaaaaaaaand sang on it with some of my best best friends @natandalex.”
On the gentle acoustic track, Nat and Alex sing of intimate and uninhibited connection. Eilish’s voice seamlessly weaves into the breezy, layered harmonies, a signature of her work. “Did you like the piano?” Alex asks as the longing lyrics linger like perfume and the harmonies fade into a distant hum.
This release follows Nat and Alex Wolff’s EP, Table for Two and Eilish’s album “Hit Me Hard and Soft.”
