For Brynn Elliott, 2021 has been a year of change, from moving across the country during the pandemic to releasing her new EP, ‘CAN I BE REAL?’. However, the biggest and most difficult change was the unexpected loss of her father.

Grieving, Elliott picked up the guitar and processed the news in the best way she knew how, music.

The result is her touching new single, “Breathe,” co-written by Elliott and R&B artist Pink Sweat$.

“I wrote the first verse and chorus of ‘Breathe’ at the beginning of this year about my journey through the pandemic,” she explained. “I moved across the country to Los Angeles in the middle of this global crisis. In the midst of that transition, I had to learn what it meant truly to breathe.  I experienced the greatest loss I’ve ever known when my dad died suddenly and unexpectedly. Since then, I feel like I have had to start over creatively. I had to go back to 15 year old Brynn, just me and a guitar processing life.”

Through chill guitar and lyrics like “It’s a rocky road here without you, but I’ll hold you in my dreams,” Elliott hopes to “provide a moment of peace” for all those grieving.

“We’ve all lost and grieved so much through this pandemic. It’s my hope that my story and this song will provide a moment of peace and calm for those who hear it for whatever they might be grieving or feeling. It’s my deepest hope that this song inspires others to breathe and to know what a wonderfully beautiful gift it is to be alive,” Elliott shared.

The release is paired with a sentimental music video, directed by Austin Starrett Winchell (Hayley Kiyoko, Marshmello & Roddy Ricch) with creative direction by Lauren Dunn (Megan Thee Stallion, Ingrid Andress).

You can hear Brynn Elliott’s music live at her headline performance at Los Angeles’ Peppermint Club on Saturday, November 13, as well as at additional dates to be announced soon. www.brynnelliottofficial.com.
