Last Thursday night at Boston’s Roadrunner venue, fans were treated to a non stop energetic performance as Kenny Mason opened for Denzel Curry on his current tour.
Kenny Mason delivered a standout opening set that quickly won over the audience. For many in attendance, including myself, this was a first opportunity to see him perform live after missing his previous Boston appearances. The Atlanta native took over the stage with confidence, even organizing a mosh pit that had the floor shaking. The undeniable highlight came during his performance of “Stick”, a moment that transformed the venue into a jumping, singing crowd of fans who knew every word. Kenny’s ability to connect with the crowd was an awesome thing to experience and he’s proven to be an artist deserving of his growing reputation.
Headliner Denzel Curry took the energy to another level when he hit the stage. This Florida rapper has built a reputation for his dynamic live performances, and Thursday’s show reinforced his status as one of hip hop and rap’s most charismatic performers. Denzel’s crowd control had fans responding to his every command, creating waves throughout the venue, even creating an intense mosh pit. The night’s highlight performance had to be of his song “Walkin” showcasing both his performance skills and clean vocals. Denzel continues to demonstrate why he remains one of rap’s most talented artists.
The pairing of these two artists created a perfect balance for the night, giving Boston’s rap fans energy and phenomenal performances that will be remembered long after the end of this tour.
