Breakout artist Zoe Wees shared her new single “Lonely” on March 18 along with a lyric video. The song tackles raw emotion and sees Wees being vulnerable and open to sharing her experience as a young person gaining fame.
Her voice is strong throughout the track as she transitions from rapping to singing and accompanied by stripped down piano and a beat, the song takes on a straightforward sound. Although simple, the track is catchy and meets the tone of the lyrics to build a story.
Through the lyrics the 19-year-old artist reflects on the isolation of living life in the public eye and highlights the challenges of finding people who love you for who you are. The single marks growth that Wees has experienced through her ever-changing life in the spotlight.
Wees’ debut 2021 EP Golden Wings has accumulated over 1.2 billion streams worldwide and skyrocketed the artist to recognition. Now Wees is continuing to create new music and grow her fanbase.
Wees will embark on her first ever EU/UK headline tour this summer starting on March 29 with dates and tickets here.
