On season 14 of The Voice, Jackie Foster chased her dreams of becoming a singer/songwriter. Now with the support of her ever growing fanbase, Foster is continuing her pursuit with the release of her second single, “Runaway.” The new track explores her fears of leaving her hometown of Poway, CA for the bright lights and new possibilities of Los Angeles.
The new track begins with a pulsing beat as Foster sings, “similar faces, stuck here for generations, never changes, I only need a one way ride.” The song then crescendos as her genre bending vocals soar.
Foster revealed in a press release, “There are too many of us out there too afraid to chase a dream because it feels unattainable. Too many people stuck in a situation; too afraid to discover what’s on the outside. Too afraid to chase a light in the distance. I know I was afraid to leave home and chase a dream that felt impossible.”
