After the trio love drama between Olivia Rodrigo, Joshua Bassett and Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo has released her debut album, Sour.
Coming off from the drama as well as the peak of her show, High School Musical: The Musical The Series season 2, Rodrigo has blessed us with her love drama filled album.
It all started with the hit “Drivers License” which ignited a widespread interested in a love triangle between Joshua, Olivia and Sabrina. In the hit, Rodrigo belted extremely relatable, heart-wrenching lunes about doing something you were supposed to do with the one you love, but now are doing alone.
The other ballads on the album such as “Traitor” and “Happier” deal with similar love, heartbreak songs in a graceful way. She also has a few jams on it such as “Good 4 U” and the opening song on the album, “Brutal” where she points references to classic music such as “I’m so sick of 17, Where’s my fuckin’ Teenage Dream?”
The album shows her insecurity and weakness, grappling with the hollowness of social media on songs such as “Jealousy”
Rodrigo is clearly on her way to stardom with her debut album already breaking charts and her already performing at SNL and The Brits, she’s on her way already to grab a Grammy next year for sure.
