Rising singer-songwriter, and Tik Tok artist vaultboy is following up his debut viral hit, “everything sucks,” with his emotional new single “aftermath.”
Dubbed the “King of Sad Songs” by Rolling Stone, vaultboy has a way of creatively capturing relatable feelings. “aftermath” does that with its take on processing the aftermath of a relationship.
Beginning with longing piano notes, vaultboy sings of frustration with how things ended and all the things he did to prevent the relationship’s demise. The music eventually swells at the chorus, which hits like a gut punch with the unbridled emotion heard in both the lyrics and vaultboy’s distinct vocals.
As an avid gamer, vaultboy paired the single with a video game-inspired lyric video.
Between “everything sucks” and “aftermath,” vaultboy is proving Rolling Stone right, he is worthy of sad song royalty.
