“Yellow Lines” is the brand new single from Tommy Newport. The psychedelic track uses the metaphor of swerving while driving to comment on the importance of staying focused and driven on what lies in your future.
The woozy, dance sound rich in bass and wavy guitar is the result of Newport’s and co-producer 4th Pyramid’s (Black Eyed Peas, Wu-Tang Clan) experimentation with sound. “My battle, like so many other artists, is the constant evolution of my sound and wanting to always try new things. I prefer to exist in many different worlds sonically at once,” Newport says.
The imagery of a yellow line is also carried over into the self-shot and directed music video.
Newport’s music can also be heard in soundtracks from television shows, including HBO’s hit TV show Ballers, Netflix’s original series What/If, TBS’ Search Party, Amy Schumer’s documentary Expecting Amy, and The Sinner, as well as his internationally renowned YouTube series COLORS.
