Talia Jackson is known for her role as “Jade” in Netflix’s NAACP Award-winning hit series Family Reunion. However, when filming paused during the pandemic, the actress decided to explore another one of her passions, music.
Her latest single, “19” follows the lead of her previous three singles in its cathartic processing of life events. On the grungy pop track, Jackson opens up about her premature coming-of-age, mental health, and the person who understood her.
“I grew up fast, the industry will do that to you, especially if you get started young. I’ve always felt like I’ve been around longer than I actually have and I’ve struggled with my mental health for so long that I was exhausted with life. Then I met a person who made me feel so incredibly seen & heard that even the shitty days felt like heaven. He showed me that there is so much more to life than just the bad moments & helped me feel safe enough to be one thousand percent me,” Jackson shared.
The song is accompanied by an Alice and Wonderland-inspired video set among a palatial home and beautiful gardens.
Along with her passions for music and acting, Talia also is an advocate for mental illness awareness and Global Lyme Alliance.
