Samia has arrived with her critically acclaimed third album, Bloodless, an exploration of fictional country mysteries and the weight of expectations, seamlessly weaving through folk and indie pop. On May 21, she brought those themes to Boston’s House of Blues, inviting the crowd to reflect on and celebrate a record she says she’s “so proud of.”
For this tour, Samia has partnered with Reproductive Freedom for All, a nonprofit advocating for abortion access, birth control, paid leave, and more.

Opening the night was an eccentric and magnetic performance from alt/indie artist Raffaella. Then Samia took the stage, strutting out in Docs and Levi’s to a roar of applause that briefly caught her off guard. She paused, visibly moved, to take in the love before beginning her 19-song set.
Bathed in the warm glow of a dozen unshaded lamps, each one shifting hue to match the mood of a song, Samia set the tone. Green lit the stage for “Lizard,” purple for “Spine Oil,” and a deep crimson for “Kill Her Freak Out.” The red light amplified the ferocity of the lyric, “I’ll fucking kill her and I’ll fucking freak out,” which the audience screamed back so powerfully that Samia clasped her heart in awe.
She dedicated “North Poles” to her best friend, songwriting partner, and show opener Raffaella. “I really value friendship,” she told the crowd. “If you have a best friend or soulmate, you are really lucky, and you should hold on for dear life.” That sentiment echoed something Raffaella had shared earlier in her set when dedicating a song to Samia.
Other highlights included “Bovine Excision,” “Carousel,” and “Craziest Person,” which Samia performed either at the piano or seated in her green “soccer mom” chair. Of the latter song, she quipped, it’s “about when you’re crazy, but someone else is a little crazier.”
Samia closed the night with an encore featuring “Pool,” “Is There Something in the Movies?,” and “Honey.” As the sweet notes of “Honey” lingered, the crowd erupted, cheering for more, unwilling to let go just yet.
