Colorado native Gabe James hit the stage at LA’s iconic Peppermint Club on Friday, February 23, 2024, around 8 PM. His set started with a country western theme as he walked onto the stage with his belt, boots, and cowboy hat. It opened with the song “Fault Line,” followed by “Some Country Song.” Despite only having a guitarist and a drummer, he filled the room with sound and energy. The audience lit up when they heard the first riff of “Fast Car” by Tracy Chapman. Despite it being a cover, Gabe could make the song his own. Gabe went on to play a few more originals. A crowd favorite was the unreleased but soon-to-be-released “Bleed Them Dry,” which demonstrated his storytelling ability and held inspiration from artists such as Noah Kahn. He ended the set with a cover of the iconic “Love Story” by Taylor Swift. At only 22 years old, Gabe James is already making a name for himself, and rightfully so, as his talent and charisma shine through on stage.
