PinkPantheress’ “Capable of Love” tour drew a sold-out crowd for an early night at Boston’s Royale. Lines for the show started early that morning, and fans were eager to get inside and see the performance that she was about to put on.
Rapper Bktherula opened up the night with an electric set to get the crowd warmed up and dancing along. With bubble machines, strobe lights, and all-around great energy, she did an incredible job hyping up the crowd and preparing them for PinkPantheress’ set, which would follow shortly after.
PinkPantheress does a perfect job playing into the persona she’s created for herself both online and in her live performances. Arriving with her iconic black handbag, she strutted back and forth across the chandelier and neon sign adorned stage as she performed her first song, “Break it off,” followed by “I must apologize” and “Mosquito.” Though criticized for her stage presence in the past, PinkPantheress has certainly warmed up to performing live, even interacting with the front row occasionally during songs.
Throughout the set, a deep voice could be heard on the speakers separating her set into sections where she would perform different songs. The main set included four of these “acts,” and she returned for a two-song encore later on. The end of the fourth act included a performance of PinkPantheress’ viral collaboration with rapper Ice Spice, “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2,” and while there was no appearance from Ice Spice, the crowd effortlessly sang along over the recorded track during her part of the song.
The “Capable of Love” tour is nearly over, with a few more stops in Texas and California. However, PinkPantheress will go on to open for the second US leg of Olivia Rodrigo’s sold-out GUTS arena tour starting in July.
