Peach PRC Concludes Debut North American Tour with Enchanting Boston Finale

Australian singer-songwriter Peach PRC put on a stunning performance at Boston’s Royale last week to close out her most recent North American tour. Her debut EP, Manic Dream Pixie, was released over a year ago, and it quickly rose to number 1 on the ARIA (Australian) charts after its release. From fully produced pop anthems to lyrically complex, emotional ballads, Peach PRC’s discography showcases an impressive range of musical styles and production techniques.

This was Peach PRC’s first ever show in Boston, and, throughout the night, she made sure that fans who have patiently been waiting to see her over the years got to hear nearly every song she’s ever officially released. She opened the set with three upbeat tracks to get the crowd hyped for what was to come. First up was “Perfect For You” off of her EP, and following that were her two singles “Blondes” and “Colourblind.” Between songs three and four, Peach PRC spotted a sign in the crowd (hand painted on a canvas!) and asked for it to be passed up to her on stage. Her authenticity and genuine desire to connect with her fans was palpable throughout the entire performance, as she would stop to talk to the front row or point out what someone in the crowd was wearing.

Peach PRC continued on with a few more songs before introducing the next one by asking the crowd if anyone came with someone they loved, which of course was met with cheers of affirmation from the crowd. “Loved You Before,” also off of Manic Dream Pixie, tells a story of two lovers who seem to have met in previous lives. Lyrics like “I think I met you in a store in 1944 / I probably wrote you letters while you went off to the war” and “I think I loved you before / back when we were dinosaurs” set to a dreamy, upbeat backtrack made this song a standout of the night. This song also came with a touching fan project which had fans hold up hearts with “We’ll Love You In Every Lifetime” written on them, another example of Peach PRC’s relationship with her audience.

Towards the end of the main set, Peach PRC slowed it down to play acoustic versions of “Touchy Subject,” “Heavy,” and “Dear Inner Child.” Before “Dear Inner Child,” Peach PRC gave a touching introduction about how this song is directed at her younger self and the freedom she has now to express her true self.

She wrapped up the main set with a cover of “What Dreams Are Made Of” by Hillary Duff before returning for her first encore that involved a theatrical performance of the viral “God Is A Freak,” complete with Peach PRC dancing across the stage with a fan’s lesbian pride flag. Two more covers were in store for the audience before she wrapped up the set for the night: “Everytime We Touch” by Cascada and “Good Luck, Babe!” by rising superstar Chappell Roan.

While this show may have ended the US portion of the “Secret PRC Tour,” the success of this tour and Peach PRC’s unique and sincere style have set her up for great success in the future. Hopefully we’ll catch her again when she makes her way back around to the States! For now, her next show will be at Australia’s Spin Off festival, where she will perform alongside artists like Conan Gray, Girl in Red, and more.
