Lebanese artist and songwriter Maro, released his debut single “Carsick.” The track “is about my on-and-off relationship with a girl. Despite knowing there’s no point in trying again, I still do, which leads me to bad habits and a repetitive cycle,” Maro says. This scenario is captured through repeating sounds and lyrics that skillfully create a pulsating earworm.
For Maro, listening to and creating songs have been a constant and welcomed release, while growing up in war-torn Lebanon. Maro’s Lebanese and Ukranian background, as well as influences from other cultures are evident in his music.
At 19 Maro can sing in 7 languages, play piano, write radio worthy pop tracks, and has taught himself guitar. Maro’s fusion of talents and inspiration meld to create a sound that is unique and intriguing. ”I want to have something that fans hear and immediately know, this is Maro…The music is raw and emotional, and I just want people to find it real,” Maro shared.
