Lineup Highlights: All Things Go presents the first NYC edition of their women-forward festival

All Things Go has made a name for itself as a one-of-a-kind music festival that centers female, non-binary, and queer artists in a time when many fests are dominated by male performers.

For the past ten years All Things Go has been a festival in the Washington, DC area that has been gaining fame and publicity for its high-profile lineups. This year they have announced their first New York City festival, which is taking place at Forest Hills Stadium on September 28th-September 29th. Featuring many of the same artists from this year’s DC fest, the lineup is paired down to accommodate the single-stage setting at Forest Hills.

The NYC lineup gained a lot of buzz online when it was announced, and both the presale and general sale sold out within minutes of tickets going on sale.

Many of the artists featured on the NYC lineup are already notable names in queer indie-pop music, and many of them are veterans of the DC location of All Things Go. Three-piece pop group Muna is a veteran All Things Go performer, playing their third and fourth ATG fests this year, and their first as a headliner. The band has become a staple of queer pop music over the past few years and headlining this fest cements their place as LGBTQ icons.

Lineup for All Things Go in NYC

Ethel Cain and Julien Baker are also returning performers from last year’s DC show. Cain has been on the global festival circuit this summer, playing Bonnaroo, Primavera and will be continuing on to All Things Go in New York. Baker was performing at All Things Go last year as part of supergroup Boygeunius, and will be playing a solo set this year.

A new performer this year is Renee Rapp, who is notably headlining both the DC and NYC dates. She has also had a huge festival run this summer, fresh off her hit song “Not My Fault” from this year’s Mean Girls soundtrack, and her acclaimed 2023 debut record, “Snow Angel”.

Maybe the artist that has sparked the most buzz around All Things Go is Chappell Roan. She has been rapidly on the rise since the release of her debut record, “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess” last year, and the quick success of her latest single “Good Luck Babe”. Viral videos of her festival performances have captivated fans online, and proven that she is one of the most creative and unique pop stars performing right now. Her rise from festival undercard performer to headliner all in one year is a testament to her massive breakthrough in the pop music world. Her headlining set at All Things Go is sure to be one of her most exciting yet!

On Sunday the soft indie-pop vibes are switched up by performances by Jannelle Monae and Mannequin Pussy bringing new flavors and genres to ATG’s palette.

Janelle Monae has a headline set on Sunday, following her recent world tour promoting her record “The Age of Pleasure”. Monae’s sound leans more towards the R&B and hip hop genre, and she has collaborated with legends like Solange Knowles and Erykah Badu in the past.

Indie-rock band Mannequin Pussy also brings some more genre diversity with their heavier punk sound led by front-woman Marisa Dabice. Their fourth record “I Got Heaven”, released earlier this year was met with critical acclaim, and their live performance is full of authentic punk rowdiness.

Led by some of the most exciting queer and female acts in the pop scene, All Things Go’s first ever NYC festival will be one for the history books! More details about the sold-out festival and its lineup can be found at https://allthingsgofestival.com/.
