If you’re familiar with Isabel LaRosa’s visual style, especially on TikTok where her music really took off, you wouldn’t be surprised by the dark magnetism dominating her most recent live shows.
Last week, the Cuban-American singer-songwriter brought her “Heaven Doesn’t Wait” tour to Brighton Music Hall — the sixth stop of twenty spanning several North American and European cities. Last Tuesday’s show kicked off with two supporting acts: indie-rock artist Mila DeGray, and Isabel’s older brother, Thomas LaRosa.
The highlights of Isabel LaRosa’s setlist were undoubtedly “HEARTBEAT,” “without you,” and “older,” exploring themes of desire, longing, and maturity in romance, and evoking excited reactions from her fans. LaRosa frequently knelt on the edge of the stage and reached out to interact with her fans, which only intensified the overall performance.
Not only can LaRosa put on a high-energy show, but she can also shift to a more laid-back atmosphere. Around the halfway point of the set, LaRosa played a couple of acoustic renderings, including “Piece of My Life” and her newest single “I’m Yours.” Thomas LaRosa switched to an acoustic guitar for this part of the set, pulling up a high chair to sit beside his sister.
Following her time performing in the U.S. and Canada, Isabel LaRosa is set to tour around Europe starting in late October 2024, including shows in London, Amsterdam, Paris, Milan, and Berlin.
