“Thank You, Connecticut!” is emblazoned across the front page of Soundside Music Festival website after a successful debut. Brought to you by the producers behind LollaPalooza and ACL Music Festival, C3 Presents, the two day festival delivered some of the biggest names in music to Connecticut’s Seaside Park on September 28 and 29.
NPR’s Tiny Desk Top Shelf featured artist Rijah kicked off day one with her festival debut. Her noon performance was followed by Goo Goo Dolls, Fleet Foxes, Boys II Men and more.
“What’s up, Connecticut? We’re in New England,” Noah Kahan called out to the crowd during day one’s closing performance. Despite the rain, Noah Kahan, a true new englander, gave a “mean” and memorable performance of “Stick Season.”
The music continued into day two with Irish artist Darren Kiely. The Cork singer was followed by Bleachers, Norah Jones among others, while “Lose Control” singer Teddy Swims commanded the crowd with his soulful vocals.
Although some fans were disappointed to see Foo Fighters drop out from the line-up due to recent revelations about frontman Dave Grohl, the Soundside team made it up to them times two with Greta Van Fleet and Jake White as day two headliners.
Soundside made accessibility a priority with all evening performances on both day one and two equipped with an American Sign Language interpreter.
Between the 20 world-class performances, audiences were able to also grab a bite from Connecticut favorites like Gotham Burger Social Club, PopUp Bagels, 29 Markle Ct, Walter’s Hot Dogs, Zuppardi’s Apizza, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream and more.
