After nearly two decades, Future Islands has entered a new era with the arrival of their seventh studio album People Who Aren’t There Anymore. Co-produced by Future Islands and Steve Wright, and mixed by Wright and Chris Coady, their new music is more powerful, emotional, and vivacious than ever before.
Future Islands has taken this new energy and album out on tour with international stops in Madrid, New York, and London. On June 19 at Boston’s Roadrunner, their synth pop tracks kept lead vocalist Samuel T. Herring and the entire crowd swaying from “King of Sweden” through “Little Dreamer.”
