Conan Gray has notoriously never been in love. He’s written songs about his loneliness (see “People Watching” from his last album, Superache), but now, he’s seemingly found it. In his new single, “This Song,” Gray offers a lovestruck lullaby to kick off his upcoming pajama-party themed album, Wishbone (out August 15).
The chorus is perfectly pop, sprinkled in between the soothing sounds of the rest of the track. “I wrote this song for you, something I wish you knew, something I’ve tried to say,” Conan croons, sharing intimate secrets that feel like slumber party gossip rather than a very public declaration of affection.
With “This Song,” Gray has elevated his sound, staying soft in a world where aggression feels unavoidable. He’s willing to be vulnerable, soul laid bare for all to see. His relatability is nearly as advanced as his talent, proving that Conan is a musical force to be reckoned with.
His new tour, The Wishbone Pajama Show, will be kicking off in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio this fall – pajamas encouraged! All dates are listed below.
