A day after celebrating 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Catie Turner opened her first show on Jordy’s The Mind Games Tour.
Rocking a Peppa Pig bandage on her chin and an acoustic guitar in hand, the American Idol alum took to the Brighton Music Hall stage in Boston.
Her bubbly personality was infectious as she interacted with fans between songs including “Home,” a song she wrote for a boy in the Disney College Program, she admitted. Apparently, the anecdote was more relatable than Catie had thought because fans interjected their own experiences in the program.
The conversational cadence of the show made it feel like Catie and the audience were old friends catching up. Catie even stayed behind after the show to talk with fans one on one.
Catie celebrated Red Season with a cover of Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” before rounding out her set with her new viral single “God Must Hate Me.” The audience sang along to the relatable and heartbreaking song.
Catie finished her short set, and to the fan’s delight, she joined Jordy during his set to perform their duet “(Wish I Didn’t Have To) Lie.”
She also joined the crowd as Jordy closed out his set to sing along with the audience.
She may never be “Prom Queen,” but now she has a Boston crowd and 1 million monthly Spotify listeners that adore her and are eager for a headlining tour.
