Lana Del Rey launched 2019 by surprising fans with the announcement of a new single and book of poetry .
The track, hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have—but i have it, due out on January 9, is from her upcoming fourth studio album titled, “Norman Fucking Rockwell”- a nod to the renowned American life painter. “Norman Fucking Rockwell” is a collaboration with producer Jack Antonoff, known for his work with Bleachers, Fun., Lorde and Taylor Swift. Del Rey posted a Rockwell painting in a Christmas Eve Instagram promotional post.
Her interest in literature and American art is laced through other pieces of her earlier singles; including Mariners Apartment Complex and In Your Car. She acknowledges this in a Beat 1’s , Zane Lowe interview, noting her use of a Robert Frost quote in Venice Bitch and inferred that more references are threaded within her new poetry book; Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass (working title).
There is currently no release date for the album or the book of poetry. However, after the instagram clip tease that showed Lana sitting in a room tapping away on an old typewriter; while melodic retro sound track played in the background, fans are now anxiously awaiting the early January single release.
