Garret Adair opened for Jamie Miller at Brighton Music Hall to a warm and welcoming crowd. He played a mixture of calming ballads, masterfully weaving his slow and angelic vocals with his guitar. He came prepared with a mixture of original music and covers of existing songs, including a mashup of famous songs that he claimed were inspired by Ed Sheeran (a mention that the crowd adored). Even when he admitted to forgetting his lyrics mid-performance, he played it off with charm and elegance. At the end of his set he said that even if this performance wasn’t where he thought he’d end up at this point in his life, he couldn’t be happier with what he was doing.
Following Garret Adair’s warm and kind opening set, Alex Sampson ramped up the energy as the second opener. One could surmise the intensity of adoration the crowd had from the calls of excitement as the fans waited for his entrance. Once on stage, he kept the energy of the crowd up with ease. Alex Sampson’s chaotic and fun energy was infectious, and he loved the fans just as much as they loved him. He wore sunglasses that a fan had made for him and sang crowd-favorite songs, including “Pretty Baby”, along with a cover of One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful.”
When it came time for the night’s headliner, the intensity at which fans were screaming for Jamie Miller before his first song was only a prelude to the reception of his set. He played his more energetic songs at the forefront of his performance before diving into the ballads of his discography, each and every song that he sang had his crowd singing aloud in joy. The talent that Jamie Miller brought to the stage was apparent in every word he sang. Tagging along with his guitarist and drummer, he gave booming choruses and wondrous verses to his songs. His set was varied with songs such as “I Lost Myself In Loving You” and his comeback song “Maybe Next Time.”
