Ten Years of “Meet The Vamps”: A Night to Remember at Hammersmith Apollo

British pop band The Vamps took to the stage in London’s Hammersmith Apollo last night to celebrate their 10 Year Anniversary tour of their first album “Meet The Vamps” and safe to say, we’re still streaming that album!

The night started with their first opener, boyband Soap who brought us Busted-esque energy with their electric guitars and pop-punk vocals. Starting with their hit “Bad Mood”, they took us through a band-at-prom style performance, including crowd participation in the form of coordinated hand actions during “Get Out of My House” and ending with their viral cover of “SOS” by Abba.

Talia Mar graced the stage next and gave us sweet girly pop vibes. The crowd sang along as she performed a cover of “Cruel Summer” by Taylor Swift, along with her own songs “Stay The Night” and “Forget About Your Ex”.

As the lights dimmed and the crowd screamed, The Vamps stormed the stage starting their energetic set with “Wildheart”, getting all the crowd up on their feet and dancing. Running through their first album back-to-back, including songs like “She Was The One” and “Girls On TV” the band told us about how they formed, when they tried to sign their first record deal, and what it’s like to be together ten years later.

During “Oh Cecelia (Breaking My Heart),” frontman Brad Simpson encouraged a conga line through the crowd and the fans didn’t need any more encouragement as they snaked around the seating in the auditorium. The band led into an acoustic set with “On The Floor” and “High Hopes”, where the audience softly sang along to every word. Bringing out their phone torches, the room was lit up while the band sang their sweet and heartfelt song “Fall”.

Ending their throwback set with “Somebody To You,” they thanked the crowd and made us excited for their next live performance.
