flor Shines in Boston

“I think this might be my favorite crowd”

“I think it might!”

An exchange between Val Hoyt (guitar) and Zach Grace (lead vocals) at flor’s Boston show of the Future Shine tour at Paradise Rock Club.

The four-piece band, which also includes Dylan Bauld (bass) and Kyle Hill (drums), is currently touring the US with their newest album Future Shine, which was released earlier this year in May.

After great opening performances by Good Problem and The Wldlfe, the crowd buzzed with anticipation while waiting for flor. The lights dimmed while a heavy bass ran through the ground and up into the chests of the audience members, then flor took the stage.

The band’s energetic performance fed off the crowd’s excitement as they sang and jumped along to all the songs. The connection between artist and audience at this show was definitely apparent, especially with the amount of “OG fans” that showed up, prompting a “what the hell, Boston?” from Grace.

From start to finish, flor played through a range of emotions through their songs. In addition, they ranged from playing their most popular songs to a few “deep cuts,” like “never was mine” and “no more time.”

All in all, it was definitely a night of jumping, singing, and dancing along to the indie band’s favorite songs. Be sure to check out a show near you before the end of the tour!
