Brenzy is serving up the ultimate weekend plans on her new single “brunch.”
The Neo-Soul/pop track delivers chill vibes and soulful vocals, with a side of bottomless mimosas and a view.
We chatted with Brenzy about what inspired the new single, the upcoming music video, and more!
What inspired your new single “brunch”?
The simple fantasy of having a fun and carefree brunch day with my girlfriends! I get bored of waking up and doing the same old thing every weekend.
You wrote the single with Albert Posis, Jesse Barrera, and Patrick Hizon. How did you all get connected and what was it like to collaborate?
I met Jesse Barrera through a friend, and he introduced me to the rest of the team. They’ve been friends and working together for years, and they welcomed me into the family with open arms to write and create with them. We are constantly laughing whenever we’re working, and we all work really well together.
Where did the concept for the video come from?
My amazing creative director, Moriah King, and her team at Pink Hat Media. Instead of just a basic video of me being at brunch, which is what I think a lot of people would expect, she included a story along with it that adds a bit of humor and matches the lighthearted energy of the song. I’ve admired her work from afar for a while, and I finally got to collaborate with her on this song. I’m so excited for everyone to see the vision we created together.
What was it like to film the music video?
It was so much fun. I got to go down to Miami to meet the team and film for a couple of days, and everybody that was a part of the video was so warm and kind. Everybody got along really well, and we had the best time. It was my first time working with the Pink Hat Media team, but definitely not the last!
If you could set fans up in the perfect environment to listen to “brunch,” what do you imagine it looking like?
I would set them up at a brunch, of course! Bright colors, heaping plates of brunch foods, and good vibes. We tried to capture that same sunny, carefree feeling in the song as you would experience at an actual brunch. It would be the perfect vibe to hear “brunch” for the first time.
What can fans look forward to next?
The “brunch” music video of course, and lots more music coming in 2022!
