Following a string of acclaimed collaborations, including “Sad Forever” and “Breathe,” power duo and longtime friends DallasK (Fifth Harmony, Chromeo, BTS) and Lauv have returned with their wistful and wishful new single, “Try Again.”

A departure from their previous collaborations, “Try Again” is a dance track that reminisces on an old relationship and its potential future. “‘Try Again’ is actually the first dance record Lauv and I made together,” DallasK says, “it was super fun to create a unique record that encompasses both of our styles and influences.”

Those unique styles are represented through DallasK’s production and instrumentation, as well as Lauv’s distinct vocals. The duo also worked with co-writer  Michael Pollack (Lizzo, Zedd, Justin Bieber) to blend their lyrical wordplay.

The track has been five years in the making. The first iteration came from a 2016 session while the trio was writing at a lake house in Lauv’s hometown of Orlando, FL. One of a dozen songs from that session, the trio has always come back to it over the years much like the relationship in the song.

“Lauv’s artist project started to grow rapidly and he was suddenly on tour with Ed Sheeran and playing all around the world,” recalls DallasK. “We continued to work on his albums but ‘Try Again’ was always a favorite of ours that had gotten seemingly lost in the shuffle.”

After rediscovering it again last year during quarantine, the team found the perfect flow and sound. “we finished the record on a trip to Mexico for New Year’s and that’s the version you hear today!” recalls DallasK.

This single is an earworm and is sure to be on repeat this summer!
