Ava Max, Austin Mahone and More Perform at 2019 Arthur Ashe Kids Day

Arthur Ashe Kids Day completely took over the USTA Billie Jean National Tennis Center yet again this year. People of all ages flocked to Flushing, New York, for a day of fun that included entertainment, family activities and tennis. Some of the music industry’s most popular up and coming artists took the stage (specifically the tennis court) and some returning performers, such as Austin Mahone, had the chance to experience this unforgettable event again. ECHO was able witness these performances up close and even chat with a few of the artists prior to showing off both their vocal and dancing abilities to a packed audience. Despite the heat and hectic schedule, the energy did not lack from any of the performers and each of them were equally excited to be there.

Austin Mahone kicked off the mini concert by singing his latest single “Dancing With Nobody” and brought his A-game to the courts with his impressive dance moves and confidence. We chatted with Austin about the new single and what fans can expect next from him. He spoke a little bit about the inspiration behind “Dancing With Nobody” and said: “The inspiration was to come up with something that was upbeat and fun. Something that’s going to get a great reaction when I perform it on stage. I never like to perform too many slow songs on stage because it brings the mood down. When I came up with this one, I was like this one is going to get everyone going for sure.” Austin mentioned performing, so we wanted to get the inside scoop on if fans can expect any new tour dates coming soon or where he plans to go next. “I’m going to tour in Asia in October,” he reminded us. “I have two big performances in Tokyo and then I’m going to do some shows in China for the first time. Looking forward to that!”

In terms of new music, the “Dancing With Nobody” singer revealed just how many songs he has in the volt already. “New music is coming! I have so much music that I have recorded. I probably have 200 songs that are waiting to be released, so now I have to do the hard part which is narrowing them down to a little package,” Austin said.

After learning about the plethora of tracks Austin Mahone has ready to go, we knew we had to ask fan-favorite Ava Max what’s coming up next for her too. The pop superstar opened up to ECHO about the inspiration behind her single “Sweet But Psycho” and more. The “So Am I” singer revealed that she thinks “we’re all a little sweet but psycho, so that’s why it was so relatable. I definitely think, for me personally, as long as I’m making really fun songs and making someone dance, I’m happy.” She recently released a new single titled “Torn” and has made fans even more eager to have a full-length album from her. We asked Ava Max about what’s coming up next and Ava replied by stating: “After “Torn”…I can’t say anything yet! Definitely more music…” We are definitely drawing our own conclusions from that statement. ECHO then asked who Ava Max wants to work with next and the answer may have you desperate for this track to become a reality. “I love Zedd…but Cardi B! I have to say it.”

Other performers included Meg Donnelly, Blanco, Max and Quinn XCII.
